Darrell & Tawana Beverly
Subdivision: Meadow Brook Ridge
"Darrell and I moved from New Jersey to Georgia in March of 2004 due to job relocation and to be closer to my immediate family that had already relocated to Georgia. We stayed with my sister and brother in–law in Lawrenceville for a month until we decided what area we wanted to live in. We decided to live in Duluth, right off of Pleasant Hill, as it was close to I-85 and therefore it would be easier to travel to my job in Atlanta.
After renting for a year, we decided that we were ready to purchase a home. This would be the first home purchase for both of us. We wanted a home that was affordable, well constructed and had plenty of room. Darrell and I don’t currently have any children, but we wanted our first home to be a home that we could grow into. We did not want to have to move later to a bigger home due to our family expanding.
When we started looking we were not quite sure where we wanted to live. I wanted to be close to I-85 so that I would have a reasonable commute to work. Darrell worked close to where we were currently living. We thought that we would stay in the Duluth area, but as we started looking, all we would really find were older homes and the price was not right. Darrell and I wanted a new home and it had to be affordable.
We started searching the many real estate websites to see pictures of different homes to get an idea of what type of home that we wanted. Once we started looking at homes we started to get an idea that we wanted a two story home with at least four bedrooms, a nice size kitchen (I love to cook), and a decent size backyard. We needed enough space for guests as well as space for a home office, as I would work from home one day a week.
Once we decided on a style of home, we started looking at cities and towns. We knew that we did not want to move too far away from the city (Atlanta) but we definitely wanted the most for our money. Through our research, we discovered that the further away from the city you move, housing prices were much cheaper and you received more house for your money. And the backyards were bigger.
After looking at countless houses in different cities, we decided Snellville would be the farthest away from the city we would go. I have a friend from college who moved in the subdivision Crimson Creek on Pate Road. We looked in her subdivision but it was too small. We wanted a nice size subdivision that would be a good mixture of people but not too big as to not to be able to know who your neighbors are.
We decided to travel down the road a bit and after several weekends looking, we decided to look in the Meadow Brook Ridge subdivision. Based on our internet research, we had already picked out a few houses in the subdivision that we wanted to take a look at.
We went with our realtor and we toured all of the houses in the subdivision that we were interested in and then some that had just been built and were not on the website. We made notes of what we liked and what we did not like. We kept coming back to the home that we eventually purchased. Darrell and I loved the openness of the home and the price! For the amount of space we were willing to get, we thought the house was very well priced.
Once we decided that this was the home that we wanted to buy, we contacted our realtor and set up a time to meet with the purchasing office to submit an offer on the house. We were very impressed with the professionalism of the agent and the timeliness in which our offer was accepted. Purchasing a home from Presidio Homes was a very easy and pleasant experience. We had heard all kinds of horror stories from friends and family regarding their purchase of a home and we were expecting the worst. We were definitely surprised. Even the closing attorney was great!
We knew we had chosen a well-constructed home when our home inspector who was very thorough stated that he was very impressed with the home.
Based on our home buying experience, we have told all of our family and friends about our wonderful experience with Presidio Homes. We have and will continue to encourage friends and family who are looking to purchase a home to consider purchasing from Presidio Homes.
Purchasing and owning a home has given us a great sense of accomplishment. We love our new home and can not thank Presidio Homes enough for building a quality home that was priced just right."
